We have all been there. You’re super excited about your new business and someone is either not excited about it just flat out rude. Because MLM companies get a bad rap these days, not many people respond well. So how do respond when you run into that person that is negative about your company?
First and foremost, don’t react negatively in response. I know… it’s hard! Sometimes you just want to tell people how it is. If you feel anger rising up at someone who is negative towards you, step away, take a breath, and come back later. If you are negative towards them, you have just lost a possible customer or business partner.
Figure out Why They are Negative
Did they have a bad experience with a past MLM company? Do they not like the products you are promoting? Do they think MLM companies are scammy? Are they with another company? Are they worried you are “chasing” them and trying to make a sale?
There is a reason they are being negative. Ask them why! They may just not understand what you are doing or what your company is about. If they think MLM companies are scams, show them this article. When you ask them why they are being negative toward your company, they will most likely tell you why!
Tell them Why You Joined
They may not understand your the passion you have with your company. Tell them why you are passionate about the products. How long have you been using the products? How have they helped you? Why do you want them to know about the products? For me, I tell people about my years of struggling with health issues and how essential oils entered my life and changed everything for me. I share with them my heart and why I want them to learn about them to. Make sure they know you are not just out to make a sale. You care about them.
Tell them about the Company
Make sure they know that the company is legit! Show them their business model and how you earn money. Show them how long the company has been around and what stood out to you when you joined. Why did you join them instead of another company? Why are you promoting their products? Can you actually earn money?
If someone continues to be rude to you or act negatively towards your company, move on. You could spend an hour trying to convince a grump that your company is amazing, or you could spend an hour talking to someone who actually cares and may be a future business partner!
Don’t lose hope. Some people will be negative. This usually means they don’t understand what you are doing. Reach out to them. Tell them why you are in the business and why you want them to know about it. They might come around!
