Are you just starting YouTube and wondering how to create a space to record you videos? Or maybe you’re considering starting a YouTube channel, but don’t know where to start. Today I wanted to show you around my office/recording studio to give you some ideas for how you can set up your studio and why it’s important!
My first word of advice is to start small. You don’t need to have a whole room to yourself, or a fancy desk, or a bunch of lights, or a even a backdrop. When most people start making YouTube videos, they start with just sitting on their couch next to a window. Have you seen my first YouTube video?! Wowzers! Don’t feel like you have to have a crazy set up to make a good video! It’s all about good, quality content.
I am very blessed to be able to make YouTube my full time job, even though I am not making a full time income from it. My husband blessed me so much with a room all to myself and anything I need to make my videos look nice and professional. You might not be able to do what I do, but that’s okay! You don’t need to copy someone else. Just do you, okay?
So now that I got that out of the way, here is a full view of my office! It’s not anywhere close to done yet… I still have shelves and decorations to get up on the walls, but it is what it is!
Over by the window, I have my desk. This is where I spend almost all of my time! I edit videos, write blogs, plan my week, and watch people walk their dogs all from this desk. This is probably my favorite spot in the whole house because… honestly it’s the only place I have to sit. Haha!
Behind my desk, is where I now record my videos! I used to record, right at my desk and I probably still will on occasion, but now I have this amazing set up that I love!
My YouTube Studio!
I recently bought this backdrop and I love it soooo stinkin’ much! Plus is was really affordable and just adds a whole new level of professionalism to my videos. The lights are something I’ve always had since day one because my husband needed them for his projects. They are not super amazing quality, but they get the job done!
I also chose this spot because it’s directly across from my window. I love the look of natural light, so I make sure I take advantage of that!
Why Should You Start a YouTube Channel?
If you’re considering starting a YouTube channel. DO IT! It is so much fun and so rewarding.
One reason Youtube is so amazing is that there are so many people on it. Millions of people watch YouTube videos every single day. You have the ability to reach the whole world when you are on YouTube! How cool is that?!
I started my YouTube channel to share my passion of natural living with others. My channel is still small but, I am almost to 7,500 views on my channel. That is 7,500 people’s lives I can change and share my thoughts with! There is no way I could have reached that many people just in my small town.
If you have a product or idea to share with others, you need to share it! What you know, is super valuable and other people are searching for it. YouTube is an amazing platform to do so!
I hope you enjoyed this post! Please let me know in the comments below what you learned and if you’re going to make a YouTube channel!
