You know how important nutrition is for your health. Don’t pretend you don’t! So shouldn’t it be important to feed our dogs healthy, nutritious foods? Of course!
Recently I watched The Truth About Pet Cancer. It really opened my eyes to how kibble is detrimental to our pets health.
Have you ever considered where dogs come from? The wild! What do they eat in the wild? Animals! We’re talking raw meat, bones, organs, and all that jazz. Is dog cancer, allergies, and other diseases as prevalent in the wild as they are in our homes? No way! They know what they should be eating, yet we force them to eat dry, chemical filled, synthetic kibble and get mad when they catch a rabbit.
Kibble is obviously not the way to go! So what are we to do?
Feed our dogs raw of course!
I recently got a German Shepherd puppy and switched her to raw food almost right when we got her.
Here is what I feed her! Please watch my video here if you want to know why I add these things!
How to make easy raw dog food!
- 2.5 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 pound lean ground turkey
- 2 cans of sardines in water
- 1.5 tbsp ground raw pumpkin seeds
- 1 tbsp ground ginger
- 3 tbsp hemp hearts
- A sprinkle of dry nettle leaf (optional)
- ⅓ cup apple cider vinegar with the mother
- 3 raw eggs (save the shells for later)
**Mix this all together! In a large bowl.
Next add these to a food processor:
- 1 head of broccoli
- 1 few handfuls of spinach
- ½ a bell pepper
- 2 egg shells
- 4 chicken livers
*Blend together and pour into base mixture! Mix it all up!
Add to glass containers and store in the fridge (or freezer).
Then add some bones! I like to feed my puppy raw chicken necks because they are soft and suitable for puppies.
Why do I feed raw bones? Check this out!
Plus dogs stinkin’ love them.
My dog will eat this up in about 3 days which costs me about $40 a week. The price for this is totally worth it to me because I know we will have less vet bills and she will be happy and healthy!
Since switching my dog to a raw food diet, she has had so much more energy and is so vibrant!
